Research Involvement

Paul has published more than 400 refereed journal and conference articles. Lead author of “Hogget Breeding – unlocking the potential”, he has also contributed to a range of farmer booklets published by B+LNZ. Paul has more than 20 years experience in sheep research in New Zealand and internationally, with projects spanning biological science, through to applied farm systems. A regular presenter at industry and farmer events, he has links to national and international research and programmes, and collaborates with farmers, veterinarians and industry throughout New Zealand.
“I bring a strong science research expertise, focusing on sheep husbandry and nutrition. For the Hill Country Futures project, we’re identifying native shrubs that will work as a source of nutrition and value on less productive areas of sheep and beef farms, especially in drier periods of the year.”
